Backas Village

We developed protected historic Backas manor milieu adding new functions both for leisure and housing. The site is situated near airport so it has a huge potential for stopover tourists visiting Finland only for a day or less.

A carbon neutrality plan was made for the whole area to make it as sustainable as possible. All the event spaces have timber structures to meet the ambitious sustainability goals.

The housing block is situated next to Ylästöntie to keep the open field landscape as open as possible. There is a higher mass bordering the block and blocking traffic noise, Buildings on South are smaller scale opening views to the scenery.
